The Harper Creek volleyball team went in to Kalamazoo Loy Norrix High School on Wednesday night and came away with a 3-1 SMAC East Division victory over the Knights.

Harper Creek won the match by scores of 25-20, 25-19, 21-25 and 25-21.

The Beavers (9-8-5, 1-1 SMAC East) were led by Breanna Ganton with 10 kills, three blocks and nine digs.

Also for Harper Creek, Lauren Grimes finished with six kills, three aces and 11 digs; Lexi Latshaw had three kills, five aces and 20 digs; Kaycee Klaren had six kills and two blocks; and Kendall Latshaw had 10 digs.


Pennfield 3, (At) Constantine 0: Pennfield won by scores of 25-14, 25-12 and 25-22.

Pennfield’s Tristen Ehredt led the way with seven kills, two blocks and two aces. Also for the Panthers (7-6, 1-2 KVA) Kaliey Jackson had 17 assists, four digs and five aces; Hannah Lenz had 13 digs and two aces; and Tess Nedham had five kills.

(At) Coldwater 3, Lakeview 0: Coldwater won by scores of 25-21, 25-17 and 25-21.

Coldwater (14-2-1, 2-0 SMAC East) was led by Lauren Outwater with 10 kills and five blocks. Also for the Cardinals, BreeAnn Spangler had nine kills, four blocks and 21 digs; Janie Marso had 25 assists; Morgan Klein had three kills and 15 digs; and Shelby Bowers had four kills.

Lakeview was led by Casey Looper with nine kills and two aces. Also for the Spartans (14-9, 1-1 SMAC East) Macy McCullough had eight kills and 10 digs; Julie Haring had four kills; Madelyn Drikakis had nine digs; Payton Moore had 18 assists, two aces and seven digs; and Hailey Olson had four digs and two aces.

(At) Sturgis 3, B.C. Central 0: Sturgis won by scores of 25-10, 25-9 and 25-14.

Battle Creek Central was led by Makyla Robinson with nine kills. Also for the Bearcats, Emma Stagner had one dig; Madeline Stagner had eight blocks; Karleana Todd had six blocks and Halie Hampton had three assists.

Olivet 3, (At) K-Hackett: Olivet won by scores of 15-25, 26-24, 17-25, 25-23, 15-12.

The Eagles (2-1-6, 1-1 KVA) were led by Kaylyn Westlake with 17 assists, four digs and two aces. Also for Olivet Aleena Janousek had 11 kills and nine blocks; Loren Westlake had 20 digs; Kaila Redfield had nine blocks; and Jessica Griffin had three aces.

(At) Bronson 3, White Pigeon 0: Bronson won by scores of 25-18, 25-9 and 25-22.

The Vikings (2-0 SJV) were led by Kylei Ratkowski with 11 kills, four aces and 11 digs. Also for Bronson, Alexa Ratkowski had 30 assists, three kills, one ace and three digs; Skyler Sobeski had seven kills, seven digs and one block and Emily Mayes had six kills, one dig and one block.


(At) Pennfield 4, Delton Kellogg 0: Pennfield’s Darren Blocker netted a hat trick with three goals, while teammate Brayden Bennett notched a goal and an assist.

Darian Brown made 12 saves in goal for Pennfield (3-2, 3-0 KVA).

K-Christian 6, Olivet 0: Russell Pliley made four saves in goal for Olivet (2-5-0, 1-2 KVA).
