DETROIT — Tori Henning’s 3-pointer with 13 seconds to play in overtime gave St. Johns the lead and the Redwings held on for a 54-52 victory over River Rouge on Friday in the Motor City Roundball Classic.

River Rouge (3-3) had a chance in the final seconds, but Megan Feldpausch got a steal, was fouled and made a free throw to help seal the win. Bailey Weber (3-5) led the Redwings with 11 points, while Henning added nine and Ellie Kebler scored eight.

DETROIT — Asia Doss scored on a layup with five seconds left to lift Detroit Country Day (6-2) over DeWitt in the Motor City Roundball Classic. Lexi Banaszak led the Panthers (7-2) with 13 points, while Kaylee Schmitt had 12 points and 20 rebounds.

“The game was close throughout as neither team ever led by more than four points,” DeWitt coach Bill McCullen said. “We missed a few free throws and turned the ball over a couple of times near the end and it cost us.”
