High School Basketball Roundup: Natchitoches Central holds off Airline

NATCHITOCHES — Natchitoches Central survived a wild Airline rally to defeat the visiting Vikings, 66-63, here Tuesday night.

Airline’s Demetrius Early hit five fourth-quarter 3-pointers en route to a team-high 29 points, but the Vikings couldn’t overcome a 30-point effort from Natchitoches Central’s Colin Smith. The win lifted the Chiefs record to 6-2.

Loyola 62, Evangel 55

At Loyola, Rodney Ross’ 16 points led three Flyers (4-3) in double figures, as Loyola captured the non-district win.

North DeSoto 51, Haughton 42

At Stonewall, the Griffins’ second-quarter performance led them to the victory.
Detric Clark led the Griffins (3-5) with 16 points.

North Caddo 62, Madison 58

At Vivian, Alton Clay’s 22 points helped lead the Rebels (7-2) to a win over the Jaguars (11-3), a Class 3A semifinalist last year.

Green Oaks 63, Southwood 48

At Green Oaks, Tre’Davious White and Veonta Keith combined for 33 points to lead the Giants (7-3) past the Cowboys (3-6).

North Webster 61, Fair Park 56

At Fair Park, the visiting Knights (4-1) got 15 points from Dontavious Smith to edge the Indians (3-5).
Josh Smith led Fair Park with a game-high 16 points.

Northwood 60, Captain Shreve 57

At Northwood, Martavious Washington’s game-high 25 points helped the Falcons (5-5) return to .500.

Parkway 66, Benton 50

At Benton, Keondre Wudtee led three Panthers in double figures with 16 points, as Parkway defeated its parish rivals.

Doyline 103, Stanley 81

At Stanley, Lawrence Hester’s game-high 27 points lifted Stanley to the win.

Girls Benton 61, Parkway 37

At Benton, Madi Sessions’ 23 points led the Lady Tigers (6-3) past the Lady Panthers.

Evangel 50, Loyola 45

At Loyola, Rachel Johnson, Kim Sasser and Leah Johnson combined for 35 points to lead the Lady Eagles (7-2) past the Lady Flyers (8-3).

North Caddo 57, Madison 45

At Vivian, Leditriha Sheppard and Jasmine Thomas combined for 37 points as the Lady Rebels (6-1) built a big lead and held on to win.

Fair Park 67, North Webster 29

At Fair Park, the Lady Indians got a combined 47 points from Tyronica Foster, Savanya Robinson and Rachelle Needham to improve to 7-2.

Byrd 52, Bossier 46

At Bossier, Diamond Willis’ game-high 23 points paced the Lady Jackets’ victory against the Lady Kats.

Natchitoches Central 59, Airline 36

At Natchitoches, Victoria Rachal poured in 31 points to lead the Lady Chiefs (10-1) to a big win over the Lady Vikings (4-7).

Southwood 69, Green Oaks 23

At Green Oaks, Kourtney Pennywell poured in a game-high 22 points to lead the Lady Cowboys (10-1) to an easy victory.
Princess Davis led Green Oaks with 13 points.

Doyline 60, Stanley 59

At Stanley, Tyler Foshee’s 25 points weren’t enough to lead the hosts to the victory.
