The War Eagles will recognize the greatest male basketball players in school history prior to their Jan. 11 tip-off against Space Coast. Players recognized will include Cris Collinsworth and Wilber Marshall.

Brevard HEAT

Athletes interested in participating in softball, baseball or track and field should contact athletic director Jessica Solid at 321-757-9090. Paperwork will be due at the beginning of January.

Rockledge

The Lindsay Brown Winter Blast 5K will begin at Rockledge High at ­8 a.m. on Jan. 19. For more information or to register, contact Beth Scarborough at 321-544-7067.

Viera

Shelby Jelinek has committed to play volleyball for Daytona State College next season. Jelinek was a two-year varsity starter and All-State selection for the Hawks.

West Shore

The Wildcats are in need of coaches for boys and girls track and field, and a boys head lacrosse coach. Interested applicants should contact the school’s athletic director at 321-242-4744 or shepherd.kimberly@brevardschools.org.
