High School Roundup: Richards leads West Morris over Pequannock


Junior forward Adam Richards scored four goals to lead the West Morris ice hockey team over Pequannock 6-4 on Saturday afternoon.

With the Wolfpack up 4-3 after the second period, Richards scored twice within a minute of each other in the third period to put the game out of reach for the Panthers. Junior forward Ryan Muscatella had five assists and freshman goalie Tim Polglase had 35 saves.

For Pequannock, Jake Tengi had all four goals and goalie Jason Wright made 17 saves.

Morristown-Beard 6, Pingry 0: Crimson senior forward Brette Brier scored four goals on Friday afternoon. Senior Maxine Menne added another Morristown-Beard goal.

Girls Basketball

Morris Tech 37, Hackettstown 34: Sophomore guard Marisa Lansing and sophomore Kim Kostrowski each had eight points to lead the Devils on Saturday. Junior guards Lindsay Hutton and Krysten DeLorenzo each scored nine points for the Tigers.

Hopatcong 50, Hackettstown 38: Heather Yaros had a game-high 19 points for the Chiefs on Friday night. Gina Costanza scored 11 points, including three 3-pointers. For the Tigers, junior guard Krysten DeLorenzo had a team-high 14 points.

Boys Basketball

Mendham 41, Delbarton 40: Junior guard Alex Jacobs led the Minutemen with 22 points and scored the winning basket with 14 seconds left Friday night. Senior center Kal Roemer had seven points and six rebounds while senior guard Bobby Stoltz chipped in eight points. For the Green Wave, senior forward Rob Thoma had 11 points and junior guard Asad Braswell contributed 10 points.

Morristown 51, Roxbury 39: Junior guard Sean Hoehn scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Colonials on Friday night. Senior guards Ryan Kelley and Malcolm Chavis had nine points apiece for the Gaels.

West Morris 54, Randolph 51: Sophomore guard Conor Barron scored 11 points, including the game-winning free throws with under a minute left to give the Wolfpack a 52-51 lead on Friday night. Senior forward Pat Barron chipped in 21 points and sophomore guard Sean McElwaine had 10 points. Senior guard Ryan Harris had a game-high 23 points for the Rams.
