High School Sports Rewind: July 15 - July 21



Local high school football players Eric Glover-Williams, Dymonte Thomas, Kevin Gladney, Tyler Lancaster, Darian Hicks, Marquise Tus, Brionne Duke, Ross Douglass and Brian Kornowski helped the squad representing the Cleveland Browns at the NFL’s 7-on-7 High School Player Development National Tournament in Indianapolis July 12-July 15 post a 7-2 record.


Former Highland varsity girls basketball coach Michael Murphy was recently named the school’s next varsity boys hoops coach. The change was approved at the district’s board of education meeting on Monday.


Canal Fulton Northwest High School and Malone University alum Justin Lower won the 89th Ohio Open golf title at Weymouth Country Club in Longs, S.C., on Wednesday.


Tuslaw Middle School student Sydney Hoffa was recently crowned the reserve national champion in Individual Future Intermediate Reining at the Interscholastic Equestrian Association Nationals in Oklahoma City, Okla.


Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy’s Nathan Tomasello and Solon’s Anthony Collica won wrestling titles at Junior Nationals in Fargo, N.D., on Saturday. Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School was the only Ohio school to have multiple All-Americans named at the event, as Austin and Aaron Assad both earned the honor.
