John Jay 3, Pawling 0: At Brewster Ice Arena late Saturday, John Tobin scored a pair of first-period goals to lift the Indians to a season-opening win. Lucas Prestamo scored five minutes into the second period, and Matt Lanza made 18 saves in the shutout.

Rye 11, Mount Pleasant 0: At Westchester Skating Academy late Saturday, Michael Benincasa had four goals and Jack O’Brien had two goals in the season-opener for both teams. The Garnets had a 43-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Greeley 7, Pearl River 5: At Sport-O-Rama late Friday, Greely came back with four straight goals after falling behind 2-0. Calder Fontaine had a pair of goals to lead the Quakers. Shane Ocasal had two for the Pirates.
