WILMINGTON – Luke Magness had 27 carries for 79 yards and Sam Carney was 10 for 16 with 97 yards through the air in Wilmington Friends’ 23-21 Independent Conference victory over Tower Hill on Saturday.

Ben Hanson caught six passes for 59 yards, Jeff Davis caught three passes for 36 yards and Jon McMillan had four carries for 20 yards for Friends.

For the Hillers, Jermaine Knotts ran 13 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns, and Peter Smith caught three passes for 24 yards, including an extra-point play.

The Quakers and Hillers finished as conference co-champions.

St. Georges 42, Polytech 15

MIDDLETOWN – St. Georges ran for more than 400 yards Saturday in a game controlled by the Hawks’ offensive line.

Tymiere Griffin lead the Hawks with seven carries for 143 yards and one touchdown. St. Georges caused four turnovers, including an interception return for a touchdown by Keyjuan Selby. Polytech finished its season 1-9.

St. Andrew’s 41, Tatnall 27

GREENVILLE – Running back Austin Tilghman rushed for 379 yards and five touchdowns to lead St. Andrew’s to an Independent Conference victory over Tatnall.

Tilghman, who carried the ball 35 times, scored on runs of 35, 41, 70, 8 and 52 yards. The junior finished the season with 2,222 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns.

St. Andrew’s quarterback Nnana Amakiri had 85 yards on just two carries, with 78 of them coming on a touchdown run in the third quarter that put the Saints (6-3, 2-1) in the lead to stay at 27-20.

Joe Cooper rushed 21 times for 171 yards and a touchdown and also threw for 166 yards and two touchdowns for Tatnall (3-7, 0-3). He tossed a 78-yard touchdown pass to Donovan May and an 8-yard scoring strike to Nyjil Hayward. May had 87 yards on the ground and 91 yards recieving and also scored on a 32-yard run.

Mount Pleasant 35, Christiana 12

CHRISTIANA – Lonnie Williams had 108 passing yards, surpassing the 1,000-yard passing mark for the season as the Green Knights beat Christiana in a Blue Hen Flight B game.

Fahti Carter had 126 yards on the ground and a touchdown for Mount Pleasant. Shaquille Mills had two touchdowns, three tackles and a forced fumble. The Green Knights finish their season 5-5. Christiana ends its campaign 0-10.

Howard 34, Brandywine 0

BRANDYWINE HUNDRED – Marvell Watts rushed for 178 yards and scored two touchdowns as Howard blanked Brandywine in a Blue Hen Flight B game.

Watts scored on an 8-yard run and also ran a punt back 90 yards for a score as he amassed 269 all-purpose yards in the contest.

Damon Johniken scored on a 3-yard run, Raekwon Wells scored on a 10-yard run and Angelo James scored on an 80-yard run.

Sean Daniel blocked two punts for Howard (8-2, 6-2) while Trevon Bordrick added an interception. Brandywine finished the season at 4-6 overall.

Hodgson 56, Pencader Charter 14

GLASGOW – Jeff May scored three touchdowns to lead Hodgson to a victory over Pencader Charter in a Blue Hen Flight B game at Caravel Academy.

Reuben Saunders got Hodgson (9-1, 7-1) on the scoreboard quickly by running back the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown, and the Silver Eagles scored four more touchdown in the first quarter to take a 35-0 lead.

May scored on runs of 5, 1 and 26 yards while quarterback Ray Jones added a 26-yard touchdown run and Rakiem Woodland scored on a 55-yard touchdown run in the first half for Hodgson. Daniel Diggs scored on a 28-yard run and Charles Morris scored on 62-yard run to finish off the Hodgson scoring in the fourth quarter.

Pencader Charter finished the season at 2-8.

Lake Forest 28, Milford 27

FELTON – Terrance Best caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Tykee Scott with 36 seconds left in the fourth quarter to complete a late comeback and give Lake Forest a victory over Milford in the annual “Battle of the Bell.”

The Spartans (5-5) trailed 21-9 entering the fourth quarter but outscored the Buccaneers 19-6 down the stretch. Milford advanced to the Lake Forest 45 in the closing seconds, but a sack ended the game.

Scott scored two rushing touchdowns and Robert Ortiz added another for Lake Forest (5-5, 4-2 Henlopen South). Ryan Sanchez-Hayward added a field goal. Milford finished the season 3-7.

Charter 22, Delcastle 18

NEWPORT – Jarett Ross scored two touchdowns to lead Charter of Wilmington to a victory over Delcastle in a Blue Hen Flight A game.

Ross ran 23 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter that wiped out an early 6-0 Delcastle lead and put the Force (2-8, 1-7) in front to stay. He caught a 72-yard touchdowm pass from quarterback Matthew Oliver in the third quarter.

Oliver threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Evan Carson early in the fourth quarter to extend Charter’s advantage to 22-12. Delcastle’s Avery Earley scored his second touchdown of the game on a 5-yard run with two seconds left. Earley scored on a 2-yard run in the third quarter and Delcastle (1-9, 1-7) also scored on Lacey Evans’ 55-yard run in the first quarter.
