Sammy Dillman’s two free throws after a technical foul with 10.8 seconds left in overtime lifted the Bedford North Lawrence girls’ basketball team to a 56-54 victory at Lawrence North on Thursday night.
The Wildcats (8-3 and ranked No. 7 in Class 4-A) had possession with a 54-53 lead when Ana Owens got tangled up with Dillman and smacked her, resulting in the technical. Dillman hit both shots and Alexa Bailey added another free throw for the final margin. Lawrence North missed a desperation shot at the buzzer.
Dominique McBryde had 18 points and eight rebounds for the third-ranked Stars (8-0). Brittani Rizzi added 17 points, and Jenna Allen had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Lamina Cooper led the Wildcats with 18 points and eight rebounds.
* Henryville 62, Rock Creek 25: Emily Hollis had 14 points to pace the Hornets (7-6) against the Lions (0-8). Lesha Dalls added 11 points and Haley Huddleston 10 for the winners.
Brittany Page led Rock Creek with seven points.
* Austin 57, Eastern Pekin 41: Jessie Davidson poured in 32 points for the Class 2-A No. 10 Eagles (7-2, 5-1 Mid-Southern), who outscored the host Musketeers (5-4, 1-2) in three of the four quarters.
Donnelle Rogers and Krista Roberts each scored 12 for Eastern Pekin.
