The top-seeded Jackson Memorial boys soccer team moved into the Shore Conference Tournament semifinals after a 1-0 win over eighth-seeded Wall on Tuesday in a quarterfinal-round game.

Anthony Mendola scored the only goal of the game in the third minute leading the Jaguars (20-0) over the Crimson Knights (12-4-1). Mendola ripped a shot from about 12 yards out after gathering the pass from Matt Fryc for the game-winner.

Devyn Josko (five saves) recorded the shutout for the Jaguars, and Jack Wishart had eight saves for the Crimson Knights. The Jaguars will face No. 4 seed Holmdel in Thursday’s 7 p.m. semifinal at the Summerfield School in Neptune.

IN OTHER SCT BOYS SOCCER QUARTERFINAL GAMES

MIDD. SOUTH 1, MONSIGNOR DONOVAN 0: Senior midfielder Kevin Monaghan scored seven minutes into overtime for the game-winning goal as the Eagles (11-5-1) defeated the Griffins (8-3-1). Middletown South senior goalie San Altland made six saves for the shutout.

IN BOYS SOCCER REGULAR SEASON GAMES

NEPTUNE 3, ST. ROSE 2: Aquilas Dos Santos notched a hat trick and that included the game-winning goal in the 76th minute as the Scarlet Fliers (8-10-1) defeated the Purple Roses (10-7-1) in a nondivisional game. St. Rose’s Brett O’Malley put his team ahead, 2-1, in the 58th minute before Dos Santos had consecutive goals.

PINELANDS 1, POINT BEACH 0: Rabi Orellana sent in a corner kick and Noah Cardillo headed the ball in from about eight yards out as the Wildcats defeated the Garnet Gulls in a nondivisional game. Pinelands’ Chuck Poklikuha made five saves and Point Beach’s Ryan Franzoni made nine saves.

IN GIRLS SOCCER REGULAR SEASON GAMES

MONSIGNOR DONOVAN 3, ST. ROSE 1: Senior midfielder Erin Ruddy had two goals and junoir forward Katie Weeks had one goal as the Griffins (11-5) defeated the Purple Roses (9-5-2) in a nondivisional game. Monsignor Donovan sophomore Morgan Smyth made two saves and St. Rose sophomore Jordan Nash made four saves.

MIDD. SOUTH 3, SHORE 0: Freshman forward Stephanie Karcz scored her first and second varsity goals at 8:00 and 11:00 and Bridget Skinner added one goal and one assist as the Eagles (9-3-3) defeated the Blue Devils (11-5-1) in a nondivisional game.

SJ VIANNEY 1, MATAWAN 1: Senior midfielder Amanda Carmichael scored in the 13th minute to give the Huskies (5-8-3) the early lead, but senior forward Mary Burke scored in the 17th minute for the Lancers (8-7-2) as the schools forged a nondivisional tie. Matawan senior goalie Karen David had 14 saves and St. John Vianney junior goalie Laura Dramis made two saves.

SHORE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT SEMIFINALS: The girls Shore Conference Tournament continues today with a doubleheader at the Summerfield School in Neptune. No. 6 seed Freehold Township, the defending Shore Conference Tournament champion, takes on No. 2 seed Toms River North in the 5 p.m. semifinal. The 7 p.m. game will be No. 5 seed Red Bank Catholic, which won the tournament from 2008-10, against No. 1 seed Freehold, which last won the tournament in 2006.
