Jessie Davidson collected a game-high 24 points as Austin held off Mid-Southern Conference rival Corydon 47-41 Wednesday night in high school girls’ basketball.
Austin, which trailed 13-9 after the first quarter, led by as many as 10 points in the final period.
“We just couldn’t get over the hump,” said Panthers coach Michael Uhl, who noted the Eagles (3-2, 2-1) connected on 9 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter.
Marie Rothrock led Corydon (4-3, 2-2) with 18 points, including three 3-pointers.
* North Harrison 65, South Central 35: Kendra Lambert tallied 20 points and Jill Book chipped in 18 as the host Lady Cats blew by the Rebels.
Shaylah Neal added 11 points and Kasey Kelley 10 points and 11 rebounds for North Harrison (3-6).
Kelsey Miller scored nine points and Maddie O’Connor eight for South Central (2-5).
