Mike Kaspar’s diving header lifted Whippany Park to a 2-1 double-overtime victory over Morristown-Beard in an NJAC-Liberty boys soccer game on Thursday afternoon.
Junior defender Roman Stashchyshyn headed in a corner for his first varsity goal, tying the score with four minutes to go in regulation for the Wildcats (8-2-1).
Sophomore Diego Serrano, an exchange student from Spain, scored for Morristown-Beard (2-8).
Morristown 0, West Morris 0 (2 OT): Chris Sterbenz had seven saves for West Morris on Wednesday afternoon.
Josh Bolson of Morristown made nine saves.
Whippany Park 3, Morristown-Beard 2: Junior striker Gina Shiera scored the game-winning goal on a breakaway in the 67th minute. Shiera finished with two goals and an assist for the Wildcats (9-4). Carson Fleno and Kristy Cotter scored Morristown-Beard’s goals within four minutes in the second half.
Morris Catholic 3, St. Elizabeth 0: Senior midfielder Tara Sobierajski scored twice and goalkeepers Kayla Murphy and Jeannie Kivlon had three saves apiece as Morris Catholic (11-0-2) recorded its eighth shutout.
Montville 4, Morris Knolls 0: Aimee and Kellie Vizzuso and Lexie Lieberman each had a goal and an assist. Lindsay Karback made four saves to earn her eighth shutout (8-4-2).
Morristown 1, West Morris 0: Junior midfielder Marissa Miyashiro scored on a stroke with eight minutes left in the game. Colonials goalkeeper Katiie Beilin had 11 saves.
Madison 1, Boonton 0: Senior forward Ali Jago’s second-half goal kept Madison undefeated (13-0). Sam Klimaszewski made two saves for the shutout.
Whippany Park 4, Butler 0: Katie MacArthur had two goals and two assists and junior forward Marissa Kowalski added a goal and an assist for the Wildcats (6-5).
High Point 6, Morris Hills 0: Senior Darby Smith had four goals and an assist. Junior Carly Satter added a goal and an assist.
Hackettstown 1, Jefferson 0: Elizabeth Dieteman scored the lone goal in the first half.
