Kevin Gear racks up 22 kills in Gates Chili win


Kevin Gear had 22 kills and nine digs to lead Gates Chili to a three-set win over Irondequoit Thursday in Monroe County boys volleyball.

Anthony Fiammi added six kills and four blocks for the Spartans (9-5, 7-2), who won 26-24, 25-23, 25-21.

Eric Tuttle had 12 kills for the Eagles.

Spencerport 25-25-25, Hilton 22-14-22

Jack Wedow finished with three digs and Sam Vespone and Tyler Gatti each added five kills and five aces for the Rangers (6-6, 5-3).

Kyle Donovan had 20 assists for the Cadets (1-12, 0-9).

Webster 17-25-20

Ethan Dangler had 15 digs and Sam Bitker added 11 kills for the Patriots (11-2).

Steve Lindenburg finished with 10 kills, 10 digs and four blocks for Webster.

Josh Holm had seven kills with four blocks and Jason Ephraim added 17 assists for Fairport (11-2).

Steven Zarzycki recorded 22 assists and Genaro Aldarran added six kills for R-H (6-8).

Marshall 25-21-22-25-25, Edison 21-25-25-23-17

Joey Rivera had seven kills and seven assists for Marshall (6-6).

East 25-25-25,
Monroe 15-18-23

Dontay Caruthers had 12 kills and Kenny Rodriguez added 13 to lead East (5-4, 7-7). East’s Dejaun Steele had 13 assists at Monroe.

Charlotte 25-25-22-25, Pavilion 16-14-25-14

Kievonn Banks had nine kills and three blocks and Bennie Dukes added nine assists and three kills for the Lakesiders (9-2).

Oliver Ewell had four kills and five aces and Jack Clapper added four kills and two blocks for the Golden Gophers (1-7).


Zach Steadman finished with a goal and an assist and Justin Barrett also scored for the Eagles (3-9). Brian Urquhart added an assist.

Garrett Love recorded six saves for the shutout.

Tyler Chmylak and Sam Beadle both scored within the first 11 minutes of the game for Holley (11-3).

Austin Franclemont scored in the 31st minute for Pembroke (3-11).

Austin Richardson, Mason Muoio, and Josh Latham each scored for the Bees (12-1-1).

The Wildcats are 9-3-1.

Geoff Rice and Kris Kwiecen each scored for Perry (4-6-3).

Kwiecen scored with five minutes left off a pass from Sean Olin to tie the game at 2-2.

Matt Sancilio scored on a penalty kick and Zach Mouw scored off a pass from Jim Jadlos for the Braves (8-3-3).

Robert Cooper scored for the Blue Panthers (7-4-3).

Tristan Foro scored for the Spartans (3-9-2).

Sal Sierra recorded five saves for Sodus.

Red Creek 0, Marion 0

Cullen Sherman stopped 11 shots for Red Creek (7-6-1).

Garrett Fries made 11 stops for Marion (8-3-2).

Josh McIntosh finished with a goal and two assists and Rufus Hall and Tom Ferland each added goals for the Marauders (11-0-2).

Elton Johnson scored in the 46th minute for Geneseo (11-2).
