David Esswein led the Kiel baseball team by going 2-for-4 with a team-high two RBI, but it wasn’t enough as New Holstein would rally to beat the host Raiders 4-3 on Tuesday.

Esswein hit a two-RBI single in the second inning to push Kiel’s lead to 3-0, but New Holstein would eventually score three times in the sixth to complete the comeback.

Jordan Meyer took the loss for the Raiders (6-16, 5-12), going six innings allowing four runs — all earned — on 10 hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

Kiel, the No. 6 seeded team in the upcoming WIAA Summer Baseball Tournament, hosts No. 11 Sheboygan Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The visiting Raiders fell behind early with the Panthers scoring four runs in the first inning and couldn’t recover in the loss.

Brett Kasper went the distance, allowing six runs on nine hits with three walks and two strikeouts to take the loss for Two Rivers (8-12, 6-12).

Offensively, Cameron Greene was a perfect 4-for-4 with an RBI, while teammates Tanner Tome (2-for-4) and Brock Gospodarek (2-for-3) each had one of the Raiders other two RBI.

Two Rivers (No. 12) will travel to take on No. 5 Oostburg on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., a team the Raiders beat 19-1 earlier in the season.
