The Kiel baseball team allowed host Sheboygan falls to score seven runs in the first two innings and a late rally attempt fell short in a 13-11 loss on Friday.
The Raiders scored one run each in the first and second innings before going off for seven in the fourth to take a 9-7 lead. However, the Falcons would answer with four in the bottom half of the fourth and added two more in the fifth.
Tyler Konz started and pitched two innings, allowing seven runs, none earned, on six hits and no walks with one strikeout. Jordan Meyer took the loss with four innings of relief work, allowing six runs, five earned, on seven hits and one walk with a strikeout.
Offensively for Kiel (5-18, 4-14 Eastern Wisconsin Conference), Konz was 3-for-5 with two runs and three RBI and Meyer was 3-for-5 with a run and three RBI. Also for the Raiders, leadoff hitter David Esswein was 2-for-4 with two runs and Nathan Pieper was 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Kiel had 15 total hits in the game.
