The Shore Conference girls tennis tournament continued on Monday afternoon with a quarterfinal round upset as 10th seeded St. John Vianney moved past No. 2 Rumson-Fair Haven by a score of 3-2.
Michelle Colucci clinched the match for the Lancers (6-5) in comeback fashion, taking the second and third sets by scores of 7-6, (7-4) and 6-1 after dropping the opening exchange 1-6 to the Bulldogs’ Olivia Duddy.
St. John Vianney also earned team points from its talented freshman Magan Giaimo, who was victorious in her first singles match by scores of 6-1 and 6-4, and Katie McAlick, who captured a win in the third singles slot with a 6-2, 6-4 result.
The Kate Fahey-less Bulldogs (9-2) swept doubles play with wins from partners Sophie Pavluk and Shelby Sabat (6-1, 6-4) as well as Amy Littleson and Caroline Hines (6-1, 6-1).
St. John Vianney will take on Red Bank Catholic today for a chance to face Holmdel in the Shore Conference Tournament final.

RARITAN 2, MONMOUTH 1: John McAree scored the winning goal of the game in the 98th minute leading the Rockets (4-4-1) over the Falcons (1-6, 1-6) in a Class A Central game. Pat Goggins flicked the ball with his head off a throw-in to McAree, who then chipped the ball over the Monmouth keeper for the game winner.
POINT BORO 1, CENTRAL 0: Gunnar Schnappauf scored the only goal of the game in the 58th minute leading the Panthers (8-1-1) over the Golden Eagles (5-4) in a Class B South matchup. Schnappauf scored the game winner off an assist from Weston Bargholz.
JACKSON LIBERTY 2, MANCHESTER 1: Henry Kim scored the game-winning goal leading the Lions (6-5) over the Hawks (3-8) in a Class B South game. Mike Marino also had two assists for the Lions.

BRICK MEM. 2, JACKSON MEM. 1: Sophomore midfielder Julia Kirkpatrick fed a through ball to senior midfielder Allie Reber and Reber beat a defender with a shot to the lower right corner from 15 yards out for the game-winning goal at 53:00 as the Mustangs (8-1, 8-1) defeated the Jaguars (6-5, 4-4) in a Class A South game.
Tatiana Drye scored at 25:45 to give Jackson Memorial a 1-0 lead. Brick Memorial’s Marie Moore scored the equalizing goal on a penalty kick at 44:00. Brick Memorial goalie Megan Burns made five saves and Jackson Memorial’s Sydney Lavan made six saves.
BRICK 3, LACEY 2: Taylor Palmer chipped a ball over the right side of the defense and Shelley Carpino ran onto the ball and shot it from 16 yards out to the lower left corner with 1:57 left in the game as the Green Dragons (3-7-1, 3-5) defeated the Lions (3-7, 1-7) in a Class A South game.
MATER DEI 3, SHORE 2: Shannon Glenn scored two goals and Lindsey Florio added a goal as the Seraphs (4-4-2, 2-3-1) defeated the Blue Devils (6-2, 3-1) in a Class B Central game. Shore’s Samantha McDonough scored two goals.
HOWELL 1, OLD BRIDGE 0: Kristen Carrete placed a through ball into the middle of the box and Jessica Vigna kicked the ball with her left foot to the lower left post as the Rebels (4-2-2) defeated the Knights (6-3) in a nonconference game. Vigna scored her fourth goal of the season and Howell goalie Caitlin Matus made four saves.
CENTRAL 2, PT. BORO 1: Amanda Carolan scored the game-winning goal 3:57 into overtime as she lofted a shot from 30 yards out that hit the post and caromed into the net for the Golden Eagles (8-0-1, 8-0-1) in their Class B South win over the Panthers (3-5-2, 3-4-2). Central’s Erin Trapp scored the first goal at 28:29 and Point Boro’s Bella Harter scored at 62:26 to tie it at 1-1.
POINT BEACH 3, ST. ROSE 2: Theresa Schleip scored the game-winning goal after a scramble in the box as the Garnet Gulls (5-2-2, 2-2-1) defeated the Purple Roses (7-2-1, 4-2) in a Class B Central game. Nicole Meyer had the assist on the game-winning play and also scored the first goal of the game at 21:30.
