Late Tuesday prep sports: Balanced Waupun tops Two Rivers


The Waupun volleyball team routed host Two Rivers 25-13, 25-10, 25-7 with the help of a balanced attack on Tuesday.

Emilee Wiersma, Blake Buchholz and Claiborn Bronkhorst each had seven kills. Kyra Verheyen had 23 assists and Vanessa Jaeger and Shyler Harmsen both had five aces for Waupun, which improved to 6-0 in EWC play.

Oakfield 3, Lomira 0

In Oakfield’s nonconference win, Dana Swanson had 12 assists, nine kills and nine digs. Charlotte Pegram led in kills with 10 and Morgan Post had the high in assists with 12. Katie Schmitz also had a team-high four aces.

Markesan 3, CWC 1

Kristen Kok had 10 kills and 12 digs, and Elli Miller had 15 assists and Hannah Degroot had 13.

Plymouth 3, New Holstein 2

In a back and forth match, the host Huskies lost 25-18, 22-25, 25-15, 20-25, 15-8. Tara Zipperer had 20 kills to lead the attack, and Hailee Olson dished out 36 assists. Allieson Mirsberger led an active defense with 22 digs. Tori Zipperer had 19, Tara Zipperer had 16 and Olson had 13.


Mayville 5, Lomira 0

Bryce Hanke scored the game’s only first-half goal, but Mayville scored four times in the second half on goals by Elliott Schellpfeffer, Hanke, Nick Spittel and Aaron Hechimovich.

St. Lawrence 5,

Valley Christian 1

Danny Alejandre netted a hat trick and assisted on two Alex Gomez goals for the Hilltoppers, who improve to 3-1 in the Flyway.


SMC 6, Springs 1

Allison Cramer won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles for the host Ledgers’ only victory.
