Travis DuPont helped the Manitowoc Legion baseball team tie host De Pere at 1-1 in the third inning with an RBI single before De Pere rallied with a run each in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to take down Manitowoc 4-2 on Tuesday.

Derek Heinzen pitched 5 2/3 innings for the Legion (1-1), allowing four runs — all earned — on six hits with five walks and one strikeout.

The Legion mounted a comeback in the seventh, when Brady Ferry scored off Max Hansen’s RBI single. But Manitowoc would eventually leave two runners stranded to end the game.

Manitowoc starts tournament play today in Green Bay with games against Kaukauna and the Green Bay Shockers.

Green Bay Storm 5, Manitowoc Bandits 3

The Bandits outhit the Storm 9-5 but came up short in the run total.

Manitowoc pitchers walked ten batters and hit a pair, totaling 12 free passes, five of which scored for Green Bay and provided their only runs.

Andrew Wilson and Alex Larsen led the Bandits’ offense. Wilson finished 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Alex Larsen (2-for-4).

Manitowoc hosts the Oshkosh Giants at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Municipal Field.
