Lincoln sets itinerary for homecoming game

Manitowoc Lincoln High School recently announced the itinerary for the Ships’ homecoming football game against Sheboygan South to be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Starting at 11:55 a.m. the scoreboard will begin a 60-minute countdown until kickoff. Five minutes later, the teams will take the field with the Redwings warming up on the north end and occupying the east sideline.

The next action will take place at 12:48 p.m., with the coin toss taking place at midfield with the team captains followed by the delivery of the game ball by the Lincoln cross country team to the officials.

Three minutes before kickoff, the Ships’ marching band will take the field to play the school song and the national anthem.

When the scoreboard clock reaches all zeros, an announcement about sportsmanship will be made along with the starting line-ups.

Halftime will be 20 minutes long to accommodate the homecoming activities, which will include the introduction of the homecoming court and performances by the Lincoln band and dance and cheer teams. Winners of the float competition and spirit week winners will also be announced at this time.
