The Manitowoc Lincoln girls tennis team defeated visiting Green Bay Preble 5-2 on Thursday in its second Fox River Class Conference tier match.

The Ships swept the singles matches as Bailey Budnik (No. 1), Kali Hackmann (No. 2), Seidl DeWitt (No. 3) and Haley Feller (No. 4) all earned wins.

In doubles, Lincoln’s No. 2 pair of Michaela Jagemann and Sydney Verbauwhede defeated Pexy Tank and Molly Keon 6-4, 6-4 for the Ships’ only doubles win.

Lincoln (13-5) next will compete at the two-day FRCC Meet in Green Bay on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The visiting Jets defeated Kohler to finish the Eastern Wisconsin Conference season undefeated and clinching the EWC title.

Roncalli won 55 out of 56 individual matches in EWC play.

With the wins in Kohler, Elizabeth Kuenzi (No. 1 singles) and Chloe Kitzerow (No. 3 singles) finish the regular season at 20-4 and 22-2, respectively. In doubles, the No. 1 duo of Abby Halla and Tallie Piaskowski went a perfect 24-0.

Roncalli will next be in action on Oct. 2 when it returns to Kohler for sub sectionals.

On the road, Two Rivers’ wins came from its No. 1 doubles pair of Taylor Czekala and Lindsay Fish and its No. 2 doubles pair of Ashley Kakuk and Gabby Yokiel.

Czekala-Fish defeated Amanda Kudick and Sophia Hower 7-5, 6-2 while Kakuk-Yokiel edged Emma Philipps and Josie Hower 6-2, 6-4.
