The Little Hawks swept a pair of games Friday in Waterloo, topping Waterloo West 14-5 and 14-0.
Eric Kenney pitched a 3-hitter in the opener to move his record to 8-0.
Mitch Wieland had three hits, including a 3-run home run, and five RBI. Ryan Duncan, Alex Mills and Mitch Hasler each had two hits.
The second game went six innings. Tyler Stika pitched a 4-hit shutout striking out six. Jack Frakes had a triple for City (20-7, 13-3 MVC).
* WEST 8, C.R. PRAIRIE 7: The Trojans plated five runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat Prairie Friday ngiht in Cedar Rapids. Nick Grimsman hit the game-winning double.
Ezra Reiners had two hits and an RBI, Colin Baker had two hits and Tyus Adkins got the pitching win in relief for West (20-7, 12-4 MVC).
* IMS 12, WMU/W 2 (6): The bats were hot Friday in Kalona in a win over Winfield-Mount Union/Waco.
Cameron Gingerich hit 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs. Aaron Ockenfels had a double and an RBI, Kyle Brinning had a double and Zeke Nebel hit 3-for-4 with a double.
Dallas Nye got the win on the mound for IMS.
* WEST BRANCH 6-6, MID-PRAIRIE 5-7: The Golden Hawks managed a split Thursday, coming back to win the second game in 10 innings in Wellman.
Spencer Shalla and Nick Stimson combined to strike out 10 for Mid-Prairie and walk just one. Jason Schrock, Seth Eash and Dylan Wertz each had two hits. Jonas Coblentz scored the winning run in the bottom of the 10th.
