What happened: Stevenson led by nine entering the fourth quarter. But Churchill rallied and went ahead, 52-51, on a Dwayne Scott lay-up with 10 seconds left. Stevenson’s Josh Campbell responded by driving the length of the court and scoring the game-winning lay-up with 2 seconds remaining.

Overheard: “It was a typical Churchill versus Stevenson matchup,” said Churchill coach Jimmy Solak. “All of these games come down to the wire. We knew it was going to be a close game.”
Overheard II: “They had a great second quarter; we had a good fourth quarter,” said Stevenson coach Brandon Sinawi.
Overheard III: “We had 12 turnovers in the fourth,” said Sinawi. He added that those were “too many turnovers for senior leadership. Late in the game, we had four seniors on the floor.”
Top scorers: Campbell scored 14 points and Devin Kelly 13 for Stevenson (1-1). Jeremy Lewis scored 15 and Robert Foster 14 for Churchill (1-2).
