The Our Lady of Lourdes High School boys basketball team took an early lead and held off host Pawling down the stretch for a 68-61 victory on Friday.
Mike Donnelly scored 22 for the Warriors, which tied Pawling’s Justin Mayette for the game-high.
Lourdes jumped to a 22-15 first-quarter advantage, and led 39-31 at the half.
“We started very sluggish,” Pawling coach Jason Kuhlmann said. “It was a bad first quarter, and we picked up the intensity a bit. I was very happy with the effort, if not the result.”
Jack Kolosky chipped in 12 for Lourdes, while teammates Justin Rhynders and Nick Fasone each scored 10. For Pawling, Cameron Thomas scored 16.
Beacon held off a late Haldane rally to win on the road late Friday, 50-44.
The Blue Devils outscored the Bulldogs, 15-9, in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to make up for a deficit that had ballooned to 27-13 at halftime.
Six Bulldogs scored at least eight points, with Talah Hughes and Lauren Schetter each contributing 11, and Brooke Dennin and Leandra Echi adding eight apiece.
Allie Monteleone knocked down nine shots, including three 3-pointers, for a game-high 21 points for Haldane.
Sam Morgan won the 200-yard individual medley and the 100 freestyle, and teammate Nick Negron beat the field in the 100 butterfly and 400 freestyle, as their Beacon Bulldogs beat visiting Poughkeepsie, 95-75.
Beacon’s Jesse Rotering set a personal-best score in the one-meter diving event, compiling a score of 203.8 points.
The Bulldogs improved to 2-4 on the year.
