It’s time to think pink – and the local volleyball community is doing its part to spread the word.
At least four city high schools will take part in “Dig Pink” matches Tuesday night to help shine a light on breast-cancer awareness.
Lincoln plays host to rival Chiles in a key district showdown that begins in the Trojans’ gym at 7 p.m. Leon hosts its own “Dig Pink” match at 7 p.m. against Florida High.
Donations will be taken at the door at both matches for local breast-cancer awareness charities.
Local coaches and athletic directors are encouraged to notify the Democrat (email@example.com) of any “pink” athletic events taking place this month.
Be sure to read the Big Bend Preps page in Thursday’s Democrat for a very special tribute to area players and coaches whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer.
