Vanessa Boorse finished with 111 assists as the Wausau East volleyball team completed a two-day run through the Oshkosh Chaos tournament by capturing the championship on Wednesday.
The Lumberjacks beat Weyauwega-Fremont 25-19, 25-18 in the championship match.
East outside hitter Haley Schulz finished with 51 kills, and Clara Baumann totaled a team-high 56 digs in the tournament.
The Lumberjacks also beat Rib Lake, Ripon and Hillsboro on the final day of the tournament.
“There was a lot of small schools (in the tournament), but it was of good competition,” Wausau East coach Ken Zoromski said. “It was a chance to find out who we are.”
East hosts a quadrangular today. The tournament includes Newman Catholic, West DePere and Eau Claire North.
