The Manitowoc Lutheran girls volleyball team went 3-2 on Saturday at the Lakeside Lutheran Tournament in Lake Mills to finish third out of six teams.
The Lancers opened up play against eventual first-place winner Fox Valley Lutheran and fell by scores of 25-18 and 25-14.
Taking on Shoreland Lutheran, the Lancers earned their first win of the day by overcoming a first-game loss of 25-23 and winning the next two 25-17 and 15-5.
Next, against Winnebago Lutheran, the Lancers won 25-14, 25-16 to advance to take on host Lakeside Lutheran, who defeated the Lancers 25-23, 25-21.
In their final matchup of the day, the Lancers defeated Luther Prepatory School 25-21, 25-12.
Manitowoc Lutheran (14-6) will next host Mishicot on Tuesday.
Manitowoc Lincoln finished second, with its lone loss coming to eventual champion and host Germantown by scores of 25-16 and 25-22.
The Ships finished 5-1 on the day defeating Green Dale Martin Luther (25-12, 25-20), Slinger (25-14, 25-20), Whitnall (25-14, 25-15), New Berlin Eisenhower (25-17, 6-25 and 15-11) and finally Sussex-Hamilton (25-21, 25-20).
Mallory Dixon led the way for Lincoln, amassing 101 assists and 41 digs in the six games. Britney Youngchild added 57 digs of her own to lead the Ships.
Lincoln (20-5) plays next when it travels to take on Bay Port on Tuesday.
