It was a back-and-forth battle between the host Reedsville football team and Manitowoc Lutheran, but an unanswered second-quarter touchdown by the Lancers proved to be the difference maker as Lutheran won 21-13 on Friday night.
Peter Menges scored on a 14-yard run to make it 7-0 at halftime for Lutheran.
In the second half the squads exchanged touchdowns, with Brock Gilsdorf opening the third frame with a 62-yard scamper for the Panthers.
Menges answered with a 3-yard strike to make it 14-7 entering the fourth, when the teams once again exchanged touchdowns.
Bryler Keikhaefer started the fourth with a 14-yard touchdown run to make it 14-13 with the Lancers answering on an Eric Habermann 35-yard touchdown run to seal the win for Lutheran.
Lutheran was led in the rushing attack by Habermann who had 14 carries for 94 yards and Menges who had 24 for 114 yards.
Reedsville’s Brock Gilsdorf rushed 12 times for 76 yards while teammate Tyler Schuh rushed 13 times for 38 yards.
Neither quarterback completed more than five passes in the game.
