Trailing 14-13 entering the fourth quarter, Manitowoc Lutheran’s Ethan Hillmer scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 27-yard run to give the Lancers the 19-14 home win on Friday night.
Peter Menges led Lutheran by rushing 20 times for 107 yards as well as notching the Lancers’ first touchdown on a 1-yard run in the first quarter. Also for Lutheran, Eric Habermann rushed 10 times for 56 yards.
Hillmer also put the Lancers up 13-0 with his 25-yard strike to Jordon Blattler to make it a two-score game at the end of the first quarter. Hillmer was 5 of 13 for 84 yards.
Algoma scored two unanswered touchdowns before the Lancers pulled ahead at the end.

The Vikings trailed 7-0 after the first quarter but answered in the second quarter with a 2-yard touchdown run by Brandon Ertel and a 36-yard touchdown pass from Forest Fenlon to Trenton Sundsmo.
Tied 14-14 at halftime, the teams exchanged touchdowns in the third.
Ertel rushed 19 times for 116 yards while Fenlon was 9 of 19 for 114 yards. Sudsma 4-52 led Valders in receiving with four catches for 52.
