* What has competing in athletics taught you? “It’s taught me to be responsible and how to get everything done the right way.”
* What’s your most memorable high school moment? “That’s tough. I don’t know which one to choose … I’d probably have to say this football season and our three-game winning streak.”
* What’s your pre-game routine? “I usually go to the gas station and buy some Gatorade. The past three games, I’ve been buying some pop tarts and we’ve won, so I’m going to keep doing that for now. Then I get to the field by 5 p.m. and toss the ball around for a while. Then I go inside, get quiet and get focused on the game. At 6 p.m. we go outside and warm up.”
* What’s your most embarrassing high school moment? “Hmmmm … I try to forget those kinds of things. Get back to me on that one.”
* Favorite food: Either steak or ice cream.
* Favorite movie: Remember the Titans.
* Favorite TV show: Scrubs.
* Favorite Web site/video game: ESPN.com. He plays a little Madden ’13 on PlayStation 3.
* What are your post-high-school plans? “I plan on going to the University of Minnesota and am thinking about majoring in biomedical sciences. I’d like to get into the medical field.”
* What’s next? Apollo (3-5) is host to Sauk Rapids (1-7) at 7 tonight at Michie Field in the first round of the Section 8-5A playoffs.
“We know that they expect to beat us again,” Teigen said. “We know they’re going to be real excited to play us again. Hopefully, we can play another good game and keep this (winning streak) going.”
Apollo began its three-game winning streak with a 9-6 win at Sauk Rapids. It broke a 22-game losing streak.
