One week after three of the nation's top 14 teams went down, stability returned to the Super 25 rankings. Manatee (Bradenton, Fla.) blew out Southeast (Bradenton, Fla.), 52-13, to remain No. 1.
The Hurricanes are followed by John Curtis Christian (River Ridge, La.) and Byrnes (Duncan, S.C.), who dominated their opponents last week by a combined score of 118-7. Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) and DeSoto (Texas) round out the Top 5. There was no change among the first 15 teams in the rankings.
Hoover (Ala.) moved up a spot to No. 16 following a 35-15 win over Vestavia Hills (Ala.). The Bucs took the spot vacated by previously unbeaten Allen (Texas), which lost to Coppell (Texas), 27-24, in overtime. Coppell's win vaulted the Cowboys into the Super 25 for the first time this season; they make their debut at No. 20.
The only other team to drop out was Bolingbrook (Ill.), which lost to Lincoln-Way East (Frankfort, Ill.), 42-18. Dr. Phillips (Orlando) makes its first appearance at No. 25 after a 35-18 win over DeLand (Fla.)
