Michael Longmeyer would score on an RBI single by Eli Steimile and the Manitowoc American Legion baseball team would erase an early 3-0 deficit to tie the game in the seventh inning before eventually falling 5-3 against Ishpeming at the Marinette Firecracker Tournament on Saturday.

In the bottom of the seventh Steimle would relieve Cole Wimmer with a runner on first and nobody out. Steimle would retire the first batter he faced on a pop up to second base. However, the next batter hit a walk-off home run to left field to win the game.

Wimmer took the loss, going three-plus innings and being charged with two runs, both earned, on three hits with three strikeouts.

Manitowoc (5-5) was scheduled to play Marinette later on Saturday in the same tournament. Results of the game were not reported to the Herald Times Reporter.
