Plans to put new turf on Maryville High School’s football field are moving forward.
The Maryville city council voted Tuesday night to approve the new artificial turf on the football field on second reading.
Bids for the work are due Thursday.
The new turf is expected to cost about $400-500 thousand.
The council also passed on first reading an amendment to the sign ordinance that would allow the school to install a jumbotron at the field.
Private funding will be used for the giant sign which still has to be approved by the school board.
School officials hope to have the field work completed by July 1.
