THE WINNER: Carli Snyder


School: Dakota (Macomb, Mich.)
Grade: Junior
Position: Outside
Height: 6-foot-1

Athletic achievement: She led the Cougars to a 59-5 record and the Class A state title this past season. Snyder recorded 929 kills, 661 digs, 184 service aces and 56 blocks while posting a .496 kill percentage and a .408 hitting percentage. A three-time First Team All-State selection, Snyder was named MVP of the 2012 U.S. Girls Youth National Volleyball Team.

Academic excellence: Snyder has maintained a B average in the classroom.

Exemplary character: An active member of her church community, she has volunteered locally on behalf of a homeless shelter in addition to donating her time as an elementary school student mentor and as a youth volleyball coach.


“Carli Snyder is an excellent volleyball player,” said Jim Fish, head coach at North Branch (Mich.). “She played outstanding in the state tournament and is probably the most dynamic player in the state.”

THE FUTURE: Snyder has verbally committed to play volleyball on an athletic scholarship at the University of Florida beginning in the fall of 2014.
