Cocoa Beach High continued their record-setting march through the 2012 prep football season, crushing host Celebration, 44-7, on Friday night in a non-district game.
It was the fourth blowout victory for the Minutemen (5-0), which has only been seriously challenged once all season. The Minutemen’s latest win came via the ground and the air, thanks to the terrific play of senior do-everything quarterback David Dessent.
Dessent had a hand in five of Cocoa Beach’s scores.
Backup quarterback Antoine Griffin threw a 34-yard TD with time running out for the Minutemen, who played most of the second half on a running clock
For Class 7A Celebration (0-5), it was the fourth time they have allowed 40 or more points.
KEY PLAYERS: Desent threw for 191 yards and four touchdowns, ran for another score in the game. Boone Lewis finished with five catches for 93 yards and two touchdowns. teammate Jamaal Eveillard had two touchdown catches as well.
