The Montgomery Quarterback Club has announced its high school players of the week for games of Nov. 2 with Trinity linebacker/defensive end Will Patty earning private school player of the week honors and Prattville running back Kamryn Pettway for the public schools.
Both players will be honored at the club’s next meeting Tuesday. Former Auburn quarterback Brandon Cox and former Alabama quarterback Brodie Croyle will be the featured speakers.
Patty, a senior, recorded 10 tackles and a sack in Trinity’s 21-7 win over Montgomery Academy. Patty also caused a fumble and blocked a punt that was scooped up by a teammate and run in for a touchdown.
Trinity, coached by Randy Ragsdale, is 8-2 on the season and hosts Northside on Friday in the first round of the AHSAA Class 3A playoffs.
Pettway, a junior, rushed for 213 yards on 13 carries and three touchdowns in Prattville’s 57-36 win over Northview. Pettway also had a touchdown reception of 26 yards.
Prattville, coached by Chad Anderson, completed its season with a record of 5-4.
The Montgomery Quarterback Club meets at the Montgomery Country Club. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 and the program at 7.
