Neenah 3, Oshkosh North 0

At Neenah, the Rockets rolled to victory 25-15, 25-13, 25-16, but coach Bruce Moriarty felt they could do even better.

“A bit of a lackluster effort today,” Moriarty reported. “We’ll need to be more mentally prepared and sharper to continue to advance. Oshkosh North was very scrappy today and made us earn everything. Luke Herriges does a nice job with that team.”

Amy Rutten led the way for Neenah with 22 assists, and Danice Schreck and Haley Barnes each had six kills.

At Kimberly, the Papermakers defeated the Patriots 25-16, 25-23, 25-19 in a very intense match.

“The girls had to get through some adversity and they did it by looking to each other,” Kimberly coach Bethany Barber said. “Physically, they never gave up. They just kept getting after it.”

Appleton East leaders: MacKenzie Wockenfus 20 assists, 12 digs; Nicole Coenen 6 kills, 17 digs; Makenzie Morgen 8 kills, 19 digs; Molly Krause 25 digs; Mallory Lamers 4 kills, 3 blocks; Tori Sweeney 2 blocks.

De Pere 3, Kaukauna 1

At De Pere, the Redbirds eliminated the Ghosts 25-21, 23-25, 25-13, 25-18 despite 14 kills and 17 digs from Jordan Haen.

“They’re a very senior-laden class,” Kaukauna coach Guy DeShaney said of De Pere. “They played very well.”

At Hortonville, the Polar Bears turned things around in the second set and went on to defeat the Lightning 20-25, 25-8, 25-21, 25-20.
