The third-ranked West High baseball team split a pair of games Wednesday in Des Moines, beating Council Bluffs Lewis Central 10-1 and losing to No. 8 West Des Moines Valley 7-3.
Declan Doyle had a double, home run and four RBIs against Lewis Central, Tanner Wilson had two hits with a double and two runs, and Sam Scott earned the win with one unearned run over six innings.
Valley scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat the Trojans.
Tyus Adkins hit 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
West is 11-4.
* BURLINGTON 5-3, CITY HIGH 4-6: The Little Hawks split a doubleheader in Burlington, losing the opener in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Michael Haring pitched for City in the first game, Sam Mrstik had two doubles and an RBI, and Ryan Duncan also had a double.
Josh Crosby hit a two-run home run in the second game for the Little Hawks. Duncan had three hits with two doubles, and Mitch Wieland had two hits.
City is 10-5.
* REGINA 11-6, DURANT 3-2: The eighth-ranked Regals swept a doubleheader at Regina.
Fritz Wagner and Alex Balke each had two hits with a double and two RBIs in the first game, George Sehl had two hits with a double, and John Ries earned his first varsity win in relief.
Matt Streb had two hits and two RBIs in the second game, Sehl and Danny Pacha each had two hits, Mark Ward had a double, and Wagner (2-0) earned the win.
Regina is 10-2 overall and 6-1 in the Cedar Valley Conference.
* CLEAR CREEK AMANA 17-12, ANAMOSA 7-2: The Clippers swung the bats hard in a doubleheader sweep in Tiffin, winning the first game in five innings and the second in six innings.
Tyler Schulte hit 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, three runs and one RBI in the first game. Mitch Stopko hit 1-for-1 with four RBIs.
Tanner Bandy hit 3-for-4 with a run and two RBIs in the second game. Dalton Beckler hit 3-for-3 with two doubles and three runs, and also earned the win, scattering three hits with one earned run in six innings.
Clear Creek Amana is 4-6 overall and 2-6 in the WaMaC.
