North Florida Christian, one of the most storied programs in Florida prep history, rebounded from its first loss in more than a year with a convincing 47-14 victory against Florida Air Academy Friday night at Falcon Field.
Highly-touted senior halfback Marcus Clark scored four touchdowns — two rushing and two receiving — to lead the Class 2A defending champions.
Florida Air’s first TD, Alex Bouie’s 10-yard run, was set up by Hndre Pound’s 65-yard return on the opening kickoff.
The Falcons’ second touchdown came in the final six minutes with a running clock when quarterback Dwane Robinson connected with wide receiver Alex Jasmin for an 18-yard score.
KEY PLAYER: Facing a dominating pass rush, FAA quarterback Robinson threw for 75 yards, including the fourth-quarter TD toss to Jasmin.
THEY SAID IT: “We prepared all week, we knew what was coming in here; they just executed better than us tonight so it’s back to the drawing board next week,” said FAA running back Josh Denton.
