Northeast, Fort Campbell play to a 1-1 tie in soccer

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.

Northeast and Fort Campbell played a defensive battle for two halves as both teams finished in a 1-1 tie Thursday in a soccer game.

Fort Campbell scored in the seventh minute when Taylor Coble scored a goal and the Lady Falcons held that 1-0 advantage until the 22nd minute.

At that point, Brittany Guinn received a pass from Abi Argueta to tie the game. Taylor Bain finished with four saves in goal for the Lady Eagles.

Rossview 2,

Hopkinsville (Ky.) 1

Madison Stephen’s header off a cross pass from Kayla Grimes was the game winner midway through the second half as Rossview posted a one-goal victory against Hopkinsville Thursday night.

The final 24 minutes of the game was wiped away as lightning lit up the sky.

JoBeth Collins scored the game’s first goal after a pass from Adriana McClure in the ninth minute.

Hoptown tied the game in the 25th minute before Grimes found Stephens streaking toward the net in the 54th minute for the game winner.

The Lady Hawks improve to 3-0.

Montgomery Central 6, Macon County 1

Cierra Adams scored her 11th, 12th and 13th goals of the season after recording a hat trick in Central’s blowout victory against Macon County Thursday.

Sammy Jo Perry added a pair of goals in the 25th and 72nd minutes while Adams scored her goals in the eighth, 39th and 61st minutes. Ceitehe Hennis scored in the final minute to add to the final.

Charvel Groves had two saves for the Lady Indians (4-3).

Clarksville Academy 6, Creek Wood 0

Mallory Burman scored three goals in the second half as the Lady Cougars ran away with an easy win against Creek Wood.

Burman scored in the 48th, 50th and 58th minutes to lead the Academy. Sydney Halliday scored in the second minute off an assist from Anna Cherry and Cherry would find the net in the 16th minute for a 2-0 lead. Nicki Goad assisted on that goal before Burman pumped in two straight goals, the second of which was assisted by Bailey Foote.

Foote would score a goal in the 54th minute and Burnman finished off Creek Wood.

Shelby Chapman finished with three saves in goal for the Academy.
