Oshkosh West rallies past Lourdes


The Jason Fahrney era got off to a good start at Oshkosh West.

Andrew Boeder scored 20 points and Blake Derickson added 19 as the Wildcats rallied from a fourth-quarter deficit to beat Lourdes Academy, 65-57 in the second game of the Fratello’s Fieldhouse Holiday Basketball Tournament at Oshkosh North on Friday night.

West jumped out to a 17-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and still led by five at halftime.

The Knights came storming out of the locker room after intermission, outscoring the Wildcats 23-12 to take a 48-42 lead into the final quarter.

But West held Lourdes to just nine points in the final period to complete the win.

Kyle Hellmann scored 21 points to lead the Knights, while Dylan Sommerfeld added 18 and Charlie Noone finished with 14.

Ryan Sorenson chipped in 11 points for West.
