Pacelli volleyball wins tourney


GRESHAM – The Pacelli volleyball team recorded 74 aces on the way to capturing the Gresham tournament championship on Saturday.

Pacelli beat Gresham (25-10, 25-7, 25-7), Tri-County (25-9, 25-7, 25-6) and Gilbraltar (25-15, 25-15, 25-9).

Colleen Leary had 36 assists for the Cardinals, and Kasia Wojciehoski had a team-high 27 kills. Pacelli hosts Amherst on Tuesday.

Stratford Invite

STRATFORD – Tara Matter had 37 kills and Tynae Phillips added 23 kills and four blocks as the Spencer volleyball team posted a 3-1 record in the Stratford Invite on Saturday.

Brooke Kettleborough had 46 assists for the Rockets, who beat Abbotsford (25-20, 25-11), Cadott (25-10, 25-19) and Tigerton (25-7, 25-20). Wittenberg-Birnamwood went 4-0 on the day and beat the Rockets (17-25, 25-22, 12-15).

Alicia Endreas had 49 digs and 13 aces for the Rockets.

Neenah Invite

NEENAH – Mikala Sebastian and Tiffany Stargardt had 42 and 38 kills, respectively, as the Tigers finished fourth overall.

The Tigers went 3-0 in pool play beating Appleton Xavier (25-19, 25-20), Kaukauna (25-10, 25-18) and Waupun (25-22, 25-17). Marshfield then beat Appleton North in bracket play, but lost to both West Bend East and Waupun. Courtney Bauer had 80 assists and 14 aces, and Darian Molter had a team-high 59 digs and 10 aces.

Stratford 42, Chequamegon 7

PARK FALLS – Travis Urlaub scored three touchdowns — two rushing, one receiving — as the Tigers cruised to a Marawood Conference victory.

Stratford scored 28 unanswered points in the first half and cruised to the victory.

Greg Belter had 48 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns for the Tigers.

Loyal 49, Assumption 7

LOYAL – Dylan Much rolled up 100 yards rushing and two touchdowns and added a 25-yard touchdown reception as the Greyounds raced past the Royals in a Cloverwood Conference victory.

Alex Schuette added two touchdown receptions, as all three of Logan Fulwiler’s attempts went for touchdowns.

The Loyal defense was stout against the run, limiting Assumption to just 143 yards of total offense, including just 57 rushing yards on 28 carries.
