The Freehold Township boys soccer team is through to the second round of the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group IV tournament after a 2-1 win over Old Bridge on Monday.
Two second-half goals from Brian Dziobak were enough to give the fifth-seeded Patriots (14-4-2) their first-round victory.
Freehold Township’s first goal came off a corner that Luke Messina headed to Dziobak, who took the ball from inside the six and tucked it into the right corner of the goal. Peter Krzewinski scored the equalizer for the Knights (9-11-1) in the 50th minute.
The game winner came in the 65th minute off a big throw from Vinny Puglia. Nick Costelloe flicked the ball off the throw to set up Dziobak, who finished with his head to the lower left corner of the goal.
Freehold Township will play at fourth-seeded Hunterdon Central on Wednesday at 2 p.m.

SJ VIANNEY 2, CBA 1 (OT): Christopher Loney scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute in the first overtime period leading the eighth-seeded Lancers (9-6-1) over the ninth-seeded Colts (6-8-3) in a Non-Public South A first-round game.
Loney collected a partial clear from the Colts just outside the 18 and ripped a shot in the upper right corner of the goal for the win. Dylan Olsen tied the game in the second half for the Lancers off an assist from Cameron Allen.
Matt Sopher scored the only goal of the game for the Colts in the 31st minute off an assist from Hunter Grusd.
ASBURY PARK 3, FLORENCE 0: Priory Saloman scored the first goal of the game in the 72nd minute leading the eighth-seeded Bishops (9-6-1) to a Central Group I win.
Jose Cesaire also scored in the 73rd minute of the game for the Bishops off a shot from the top of the 18 into the lower left corner of the goal.

RB CATHOLIC 1, MONS. DONOVAN 0: Abby Shroba scored in the 75th minute for the game’s only goal leading the Caseys (18-1-1) over the Griffins (14-6) in a Non-Public South A matchup.
FREEHOLD TWP. 5, MANALAPAN 1: Madison Dunn scored two goals leading the Patriots (9-4-4) over the Braves (9-6-3) in a Central Group IV first-round game. Natalie Savarino also had a goal and an assist for the Patriots.
IN FIELD HOCKEY:
TR NORTH 2, TR SOUTH 1: Taylor Bauerband scored two goals, including the game winner in the 46th minute as the sixth-seeded Mariners upset the second-seeded Indians in the Central Group IV semifinals.
Antonia Attardo and Carlie Manto each had an assist for the Mariners. Victoria Alvarez scored a goal for the Indians, and goalie Meghan Lee made nine saves.
SHORE 1, PINGRY 0: Junior Carol Middough scored the game-winning goal in the second half to lead the third-seeded Blue Devils past the second-seeded Big Blue to advance to the North 2 Group I final against Oak Knoll on Wednesday. The Blue Devils outshot the Big Blue 27-6.
RUMSON-FH 2, VOORHEES 1: Emma Fitzgerald scored the first goal of the game off a penalty corner, and MaryKate Dengler scored the game-winner off a pass from Madison Maguire to lift the top-seeded Bulldogs past the fourth-seeded Vikings in a North 2 Group II semifinal game. The Bulldogs outshot the Vikings 7-2.

RB CATHOLIC 2, PATRICK SCHOOL 0: Alexis Whelan had six kills and 12 digs leading the sixth-seeded Caseys (21-8) over the 11th-seeded Patriots (24-4) in a Non-Public match. Senior middle hitter Brooke Foley had 11 kills and eight digs.
