Following its narrow 19-16 loss to Division 6 second-ranked Schoolcraft, the Pennfield football team fell a few spots in the latest Michigan Associated Press prep football poll.
The Panthers (5-1) dropped to No. 6 in Division 4 after previously owning the No. 2 ranking. Pennfield will try to get back on track and lock up a playoff bid on Friday when it host Olivet (5-1) for a big Kalamazoo Valley Association matchup.
Union City gained a few spots in the Division 7 poll thanks to its 55-0 win over rival Quincy, coming in at No. 7 after it had been ranked No. 9 the previous week. The Chargers (5-1) will take on Jonesville (4-2) in a Big Eight Conference contest this Friday.
Despite clinching its 10th consecutive playoff berth with a 7-6 victory over Pittsford, Climax-Scotts fell four spots to the No. 10 ranking in Division 8. The Panthers (6-0) will host Bellevue (3-3) in an SCAA matchup this Friday.
The Michigan High School Athletic Association has determined playoff qualifiers in eight divisions based on enrollment. The divisions in this poll are unofficial.
