After a 40-28 victory over Kalamazoo Christian, Pennfield held on to the No. 7 ranking in Division 4. The Panthers (7-1) will end the regular season with a huge test against Division 6 third-ranked Constantine (7-1) on Friday. Both school’s only losses came to Division 6 second-ranked Schoolcraft.
Climax-Scotts kept its perfect season alive with a 36-8 victory over White Pigeon, and stayed at No. 8 in the Division 8 poll. The Panthers (8-0) will end the regular season on Friday against a Colon (5-3) squad that they already defeated 40-18 in week 2.
Despite falling to 5-3 on the season with a 36-30 loss to Reading, Union City received votes to earn honorable mention in Division 7. The Chargers will try to clinch a postseason berth in their non-conference regular season finale against East Jackson (2-6).
The Michigan High School Athletic Association has determined playoff qualifiers in eight divisions based on enrollment. The divisions in the poll are unofficial.
