You’ve been a starter since you were a freshman for the SaberCats. What’s it been like to be a four-year varsity starter?: It was actually one of my goals in eighth grade. It was surreal the first two years, but the last two have been better and better. I’ve always wanted to step in and do what I can top help the team.
What’s it been like to be part of the past two SaberCats teams, both of which have won at least 20 games: It’s been two different teams with different expectations. We were expected to be goo two years ago when we made the Elite Eight. Last year we really didn’t know what to expect and didn’t have big goals. We just kept working hard.
Your team starts the season ranked eighth in the state in Class 5A. What can this team realisticlaly do?: I’ve been looking forward to my senior year since I was a sophomore. Evan (Smith) and Alex (Semadeni) went through their varsity growing pains last year. We’ve really come together and I think we can do big things this season.
