Among top scorers: Quintel has scored 20 goals for the Division 2 sixth-ranked Vikings, just one less than area leader and 2011 LSJ player of the year Konroy Blamo of Lansing Eastern. Quintel followed a goal and an assist in a 2-1 win over Division 2 No. 5 Mason with an assist in a 4-1 loss to the other CAAC Cup finalist and Div. 1 No. 7 Okemos.
From coach Alex Hayner: “A.J. is a real asset to our team, and I’m very excited to see what kind of contribution he will have for us during our MHSAA state playoff run. Along with six other seniors, A.J. has been starting on the varsity soccer team for three years now. The chemistry that these players have on the field allows us to play a beautiful style of soccer, and A.J. does an excellent job finishing off of quality possession buildup. In addition to his contribution on the scoreboard, A.J. is one of five senior captains whose leadership lays the foundation for our success.”
