TYLER RAAB

MASON senior

Quite a stretch: Raab had a goal and two assists in a 3-0 victory over second-place Parma Jackson County Western on Sept. 17, two goals and three assists in an 8-0 win over Charlotte on Sept. 19, an assist in a 2-0 victory over Traverse City West on Saturday, and three goals in a 3-2 win over Jackson Northwest on Wednesday for the Division 2 fourth-ranked Bulldogs, who are 13-1-1 and 5-0 in the CAAC Gold.

From coach Nick Binder: “He’s a two-year captain and four-year starter. His leadership and ability to draw on his experience has helped with a lot of the young guys on the team. This is the first time he’s been fully healthy, or his goal scoring and stats would have been there in years past. He tore the meniscus in his knee his freshman year, and broke an ankle bone his junior year so he wasn’t fit and sharp at the end of last year. His work ethic is as good as anyone, he enjoys high school soccer and plays club soccer with the Grand Rapids Crew in the spring.”
