Sports Austin competes in:

Basketball and football

All-time team sports achievement:

“Winning the Arkansas Basketball Tournament in the summer going into my junior year. That was with my AAU team, the Playground Warriors.”

All-time individual achievement:

“Earning a scholarship to play basketball in college (at either Dakota State University, Minnesota State University Moorhead or the University of Toledo).”

No. 1 athletic goal:

“Become the all-time leading scorer at Lincoln.”

Austin’s thoughts:

“For the team, we are looking to have a better season than last year. We finished 16-7 last year, we think we can do a lot better than that. Individually, I want to get to be the all-time leading scorer for Lincoln and just do the best I can. The ultimate goal is to win (the Fox River Classic Conference).”

Coach Brian Gallagher’s thoughts:

“Teams focus on (Austin), but last year he had a good season and … that’s something he wants to duplicate. He has put himself in position to do that. I think Austin is a player that has had good years but his best basketball is ahead of him. I think the sky is the limit for him.”
