The Manitowoc Lincoln Athletic Department recently released its schedule of events for its celebration to honor the 50th anniversary of the Ships’ 1963 boys basketball State championship team on Jan. 18.

Before the tip-off of the Lincoln-Green Bay Notre Dame boys basketball game at 7:15 p.m. there will be a welcome reception from 6-7 p.m. in the JFK Fieldhouse with a silent auction for State championship throwback jerseys — which will be worn by the Ships during the game. The auction will run throughout the evening.

At halftime of the game, a program and introduction of the State championship team will occur as all members of the team have been contacted about returning for the celebration.

Following the game, a reception for team members, their families and dignitaries will be at Knox’s Silver Valley Banquet Hall in Manitowoc.

Members of the championship team include coach John Jung, assistant coach Jim Dietrich, JV coach Walter Colton, John Lallensack, Pete Kramer, Dave Anderson, Dave Jansson, Bob Duvall, Tom Keery, Dale Lehman, Bill Buerstatte, Bill Buchholz, Bob Sullivan, John Neilitz, Jim Chermak, Greg Sands, Dean Eisner and team managers Tom Kuffel and Dean Bennington
