Prep boys basketball: St. Johns has 25-0 run in victory over Haslett

By

HASLETT – Using a 25-0 run that extended from the second to the fourth quarter, St. Johns easily defeated Haslett, 55-26, on Friday night.

The Falcons used an aggressive defense all evening to fuel the victory. Haslett only made six field goals the entire game.

“We’re kind of a plodding offensive team, so we have to rely on our defense and rebounding, and I think we did a good job of that,” said St. Johns coach Denny Baratono.

St. Johns led throughout the game and saw its lead grow as large as 34 points.

Sophomore Austin Ervin led Falcons with 11 points, while senior Austin Cleaver chipped in 10 points off the bench. Junior Peter Romsek led the Vikings with six points.
